King Oasis and The Plea of Kazo

The Plea of Kazo

After a considerable time had passed, King Oasis, observing that his subjects had learned the causes of droughts, how to prevent them, and the value of his precious water, decided to put an end to their prolonged suffering. He summoned the rains, and in due course, relief lushed over the land. The once arid grass revived, and verdant hues returned. Every soul in the kingdom recognised this act of grace, offering profound thanks and reverence to their sovereign.

Yet, a new challenge beckoned from afar. In the land of Kazo, the people were perishing. The enduring drought had stripped them of any recollection of water's taste or appearance. Tales of water were all that remained, passed down by elders to a generation ignorant of its essence.

King Oasis had initially declined to assist, citing their unawareness of his principles. To receive his water, to alleviate their anguish, they first needed to understand the roots of their plight, to learn how to obtain and cherish his life-giving gift. Such was his way: educating his people through their tribulations and rewarding the enlightened. Despite their pleas, the king remained firm, though his mercy prevailed. He agreed to aid them, but at a future date, and thus, a visit was planned.

Time ebbed away, and the moment arrived for King Oasis to venture to Kazo and liberate its people from their ordeal.
Upon arrival, the Kazoans resisted, mired in suffering, sickness, and intoxication.

"Rejoice, O people of Kazo," proclaimed the kingdom's herald, "King Oasis, the sovereign of waters, has come to end your torment. He brings the water of life. Those who embrace his teachings shall be rewarded with this divine gift."

"You are impostors and deceivers! We have no need for you, and your fake water" retorted their chieftain, backed by a chorus of agreement of his people behind him. "The King Oasis, may he reign eternal, delivered us long ago. Who are you to masquerade as him? We reject your tainted and noxious waters. Depart from our lands at once!"

The king's entourage was taken aback, certain of their monarch's identity and intent. They had never doubted the authenticity of their mission, yet curiosity piqued. They stood resolute beside their king, determined to demonstrate their veracity and worth. The people of Kazo were clearly in dire straits, in desperate need of salvation that only their true king could provide.

Investigations revealed that a pretender, well-versed in the lore of King Oasis, had deceived them prior to their arrival. The so-called water distributed was a sham, adulterated with alcohol, leaving many in a perpetual state of inebriation. The populace had been duped into believing this was the water of life, becoming dependent on its deceptive potency.

King Oasis, upon being informed, recognised the source of the chaos. Kitwa, a deranged servant from his own court, had preceded them, sowing seeds of discord and falsehoods about the king's intentions. He had become an adversary to both the kingdom and Kazo, driven by jealousy and malice. His aim was to thwart the king's benevolent plans, ensuring the people of Kazo remained in darkness, never to experience the true generosity of their king.

But the king and his men were resolute, armed with strategies to triumph, as defeat was foreign to them. They initiated challenges against their hosts. The authentic water from King Oasis nurtured life; flora and fauna thrived on it, unlike the counterfeit water, which only disrupted life, explaining the absence of greenery and wildlife in the land.

The king's true water was a balm of serenity, quenching thirst and providing relief. In stark contrast, the imposter's liquid induced anxiety, mindlessness, and aggression, its addictive nature leaving dire consequences in its absence.

With each debate, the king emerged victorious, and slowly but surely, the truth dawned on all. King Oasis cured them of their addiction, instilling an aversion to the false promise of the imposter's water and fostering a yearning for the genuine elixir, his water of life. Those in desperate need were educated, and comprehension became the key to receiving the precious gift of water. One by one, he reached out, ensuring every individual was touched by salvation.

The people of Kazo expressed profound gratitude to their king. They bore witness to the genuine deliverance by King Oasis. Health was restored to them, vitality blossomed around them, and all was well once more.
